Awesome Game!
Here is the summary for the people who missed it. *Diehard welcomed the guests to a art show in the former Sapporo Modern Art Museum. *Diehard distributed letters warning that if anything happened to him or his people, hostages would be executed. If any Shogunate member was manhandled by an outsider the 10 Hokkaido civilians would die. More severe crimes had a higher body count attached. *Several Paras then left the event. *Shortly after clouds of black smoke filled the museum and many of the guests fled into the streets. Sounds of fighting came from the building and then after a few moments lightning arched and the building went quiet. *When they went to investigate the guests found the people inside were all knocked out and Diehard had a shuriken sticking out of his shoulder. Written on the shuriken was "Greetings from the Dragon" *When the knocked out people were revived two of them tried to kill Dr. Vivian Mallory (aka Nimue). Apex fought them and drove them off. Iason Papadaupolis protected her with a forcefield. *Then "The Guard" and other Parahumans (Virtue, Tempo, Magnetique & Eddy) who had left earlier returned, they had been breaking into Diehard's secret prison and had rescued the people he was using as a human shields. *Diehard was about to be placed under arrest when Paras were detected approaching the building. Their Para power levels were off the charts. *A hasty defence was organised but the newcomers had incredible powers, disabling one group of defenders with psychic assault and bypassing another group by teleporting. *While the defenders were busy the assassins returned and murdered a weakened Nimue. *The 4 super Paras arrived and confronted Mr. Savaro an "art dealer" who they accused of being responsible for Nimue's death. One of the Superparas then turned him to dust. The Super Paras then teleported away. *Dr. Tarot and the Ministry then returned and used an artefact called the rod of pain to disable Diehard and arrest him for his crimes against humanity on behalf of the U.N. *Major Kosolov tried to execute a weakened Redclaw ( who was serving as Diehard's bodyguard) with a silver bullet but Jinn of the Ministry of Sphinxes protected him saying that Redclaw was their prisoner now. *The Shogunate had fallen. The Ministry had several members in custody. Hoka had turned herself in to the UN and the rest of the Shogunates forces were on the run.

It was a WAND of pain!
Dear Gods I'm never going to live that down.
From my point of view I had a great game, Dr Tarot finally learned to stop trying to control Taylor all the time (Except when he's trying to buy himself a sword or threatening to blow people's heads up). I showed how super effective Tarot's powers can be after a year of holding back. I achieved every goal on my sheet for the first time. The Ministry has swelled to the point that I'm going to have to make even more pendants. And I think we proved numerous times over that the Ministry is not to be messed with.
Nimue's demise was the one dark cloud in the blazing sunshine that was my game (Well, that and drawing a black joker and knocking myself unconscious with pure pain).
It was an amazing game as always, My thanks to Michelle and Feargal and my hearty congratulations on their well deserved accolade.

More later, but my immediate reactions were... *Diehard distributed letters warning that if anything happened to him or his people, hostages would be executed. If any Shogunate member was manhandled by an outsider the 10 Hokkaido civilians would die. More severe crimes had a higher body count attached. But nobody *actually* died. Right? Diehard didn't *actually* kill anyone. Same as when Diehard didn't actually kill anyone on Hokkaido (it was Fumaiyo) and Diehard didn't kill anyone on the bridge (it was Maxim.) You may remember when Diehard wasn't prosecuted for being a terrorist (he was acquitted.) Crimes against Humanity? The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court Explanatory Memorandum may disagree. *Then "The Guard" and other Parahumans (Virtue, Tempo, Magnetique & Eddy) who had left earlier returned, they had been breaking into Diehard's secret prison and had rescued the people he was using as a human shields. Diehard's secret *what*!? Diehard has a secret prison and I don't know about it!? *The Shogunate had fallen. The Ministry had several members in custody. Hoka had turned herself in to the UN and the rest of the Shogunates forces were on the run. She did!? Oh Hoka - I'm so disappointed. So who's left on the island? Ink, Rapunzel, Fumaiyo, Maxim...

I dunno, I enjoyed myself but I felt very frustrated. I felt I just could not get anything done. The people I needed to talk to were unapproachable and for a lot of the game things seemed to be very tied up in combat.
Nimue died because so many combats were happening at the same time that when she was attacked the last time I was barely able to arrive in time to draw a crappy card that failed to do anything to her assailant who then killed her.

I thought that game was great fun! I managed to accomplish two of my goals I think (even if they became irrelevant later). The Guard was great. Diehard's 'insurance policy' certainly made things more exciting. (There was a secret prison?) I loved the conversations with the Headmistress, Shaman and Cesaria and acting shocked at a little kid wanting to blow up heads was fun. It was sad Nimue got killed. It was funny another player got killed 3? times. I can't wait to find out what happens next! P.S. Dr. Tarot's wand was funny P.P.S. Diehard, Hoka attempted to turn herself in to the UN, I don't know yet if she managed to. (It was part of my downtime.)

(Out of character thread, so let's make it clear if we're being coy or sarcastic!)
Shaman has a fantastic game. He got to do a bunch of research, was *finally* introduced to Hoka, and got to feel like a badass with the Ministry of Sphinxes.
That depends a lot on how the GMs rule. There was a lot of stuff going on when we were timed out, and plot armour due to not being at the game only goes so far. Otherwise no organisation could ever be defeated while only one person didn't attend games.

(Out of character thread, so let's make it clear if we're being coy or sarcastic!) Sorry - my bad. Nothing I've posted in this thread is sarcastic. I'm genuinely not sure where the "Shogunate secret prison" came from, but there's more than me on the island and I'm not expecting that Pearse knows everything about everything and there's always the possibility that I misread something somewhere in my brief. I am completely unsurprised that Pearse has been hauled off to face the UN. I'd have done it several events back

Grand, thanks for clarifying!! Wasn't sure if that was a 'Diehard' response or a 'Nick' response at first.
I admit it, it felt good to finally go 'No, the hell with this, lets kick some villains*.'
* Who may not consider themselves villains.

Wait, there were incriminating letters going around? I didn't get any! Poor Blue Jade Security, not being important enough to warrant threats....
It was a nice character-talky game, but I would have liked to be able to intervene somewhere, like down at the docks. Blue Jade probably wouldn't have let me though, he's so cagey. Apparently our PR department is suddenly a much bigger priority than our security budget, just as I got promoted to head of security.
I do want to thank the GMs for putting in so much effort under such trying circumstances. I know they were reduced to 2 at the last moment, and I'm glad they got as much done as they did.

Indeed. GMing a group of 40 people would be hard enough with 4 GMs. That they managed it with only two people is an impressive feat. Bravo Vince and Diana.
I had an enjoyable game bimbling around being Brain Box, and of course shouting at the Ministry is always fun. Especially when this time they're the ones who start the fight.

Proper hots and nots (and just in case it's hard to figure out, this is an OOC post on what's pretty much an OOC subforum.)
Hot: - Awesome accidental set design! - New Hokkaido paras! With THE BEST PARAHUMAN POWER EVER! BEES! And they weren't even baseline bees! - Many and varied reactions to "That Letter", from "huh... okay" to "YOU CANNOT DO THIS! <Rage>" - *Finally* being set upon by the forces of Good. About time, people! - Actual applications for Hokkaido passports! - THERE WAS A GODDAMN HOKKAIDO FLAG! WOW! (Well done and thanks Shane and Mike!) - "He turned to bees. When did you get the power to do that to people?" - "Gothik's resting. Yes. He's resting. He's asleep. Using his powers tires him out. No, we haven't killed him. <Sigh>" - Depth of world. Due to the way Pearse is there's SO MUCH going on that I know nothing about.
Not: - Not awesome con moving in props for something else while we LARPed. - Crap-assed parahuman powers can't bloody do anything in a fight. Worst result since St. Francis' Academy. - Nimue. Everyone dies, but there are better ways to go. - Going to prison. Again. The similarities between Diehard and Paul Watson of Sea Shepherd continue to surprise me... - Lots of combat caused scarcity of GM resources and subsequent confusion over what's correct and what isn't, in-game. - Culture of "telling everyone stuff OOCly" means that I'm acting suspicious IC, not being really suspicious OOC.
